How often should my yard be treated for ticks?
We generally recommend monthly seasonal treatments from April through October. The proper schedule may depend on the property, surrounding habitat and level of tick pressure.
Do you treat the entire lawn?
Tick treatments are focused mainly on shaded vegetation, wooded lawn edges, leaf litter, landscape beds and other high-risk areas. The open center of a sunny lawn is usually not the main source of activity.
Will one treatment eliminate all ticks?
No outdoor treatment can guarantee complete elimination. Wildlife may carry new ticks onto the property. Regular treatments provide better seasonal reduction than a single application.
Do I need to be home during tick treatment?
In most cases, you do not need to be home as long as our technician can safely access the treatment areas and any gates are unlocked. Keep people and pets away during treatment and until the treated areas have dried.
Is tick treatment safe around children and pets?
Products are applied according to their labels. People and pets should remain away from treated areas during the application and until the treatment has completely dried. We will provide any additional instructions required for your service.
Do you offer a natural tick treatment option?
Yes. Natural treatment options are available. Natural programs may require treatment approximately every 21 days because the products generally have a shorter residual period.
Does tick treatment also help with mosquitoes?
Yard Defense can include both tick and mosquito treatment. Although some treatment areas overlap, mosquito and tick services are designed to target the specific habitats used by each pest.
Can you guarantee that we will not find any ticks?
No. Tick service is a reduction program rather than a complete elimination guarantee. Wildlife, pets and people may introduce new ticks between scheduled treatments.
