What is the Howey Pest Solutions Home Defense Plan?

The Home Defense Plan is our year-round residential pest control program designed to help protect your home from common household pests. Your home receives four scheduled services per year — Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter — along with service calls between visits for covered pests.

What pests are covered under the Home Defense Plan?

Our Home Defense Plan covers many common Northern New Jersey pests, including ants, carpenter ants, spiders, paper wasps, yellow jackets, bald-faced hornets, carpenter bees, cave crickets, silverfish, earwigs, millipedes, centipedes, stink bugs, boxelder bugs, Asian lady beetles, carpet beetles, mice, rats, roaches, and fleas.

Exclusions may include: termites, bed bugs, bats, raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, and certain wildlife services.

How often do you service my home?

We provide four scheduled services each year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Each visit is timed around seasonal pest activity in New Jersey to help prevent problems before they become major infestations.

Do I need to be home during the service?

Not always. Many Home Defense services are performed on the exterior of the home, so you usually do not need to be home unless an interior treatment has been requested or is needed.

What happens if I see pests between visits?

If covered pests return between scheduled services, Howey Pest Solutions will return to address the issue. This is one of the biggest benefits of being on a recurring Home Defense Plan.

Are your treatments safe for children and pets?

We use professional pest control products according to label directions. Once treated areas have dried, children and pets can usually return to those areas. Your technician will provide any specific instructions after service.

Why is quarterly pest control important?

Pests are active during different seasons. Ants, wasps, carpenter bees, spiders, mice, stink bugs, and other pests all become more active at different times of the year. Quarterly service helps create a consistent protective barrier around your home.

Does the Home Defense Plan include mice?

Yes. The Home Defense Plan includes monitoring and treatment for mice and rats, including inspection, bait station maintenance when applicable, and recommendations to help reduce future rodent activity.

Do you remove wasp nests?

Yes. During scheduled services, our technicians remove accessible paper wasp, yellow jacket, and bald-faced hornet nests around the home whenever possible.

What areas of my home are treated?

Depending on the season and pest activity, treatment may include the foundation, eaves, soffits, windows, doors, garage, basement, crawl space, attic, exterior entry points, and other targeted areas.

How much does the Home Defense Plan cost?
