Professional Flea Treatment for Your Home

Fleas can become a frustrating problem very quickly. Once inside, they can live in carpets, rugs, furniture, pet bedding, cracks in flooring, and areas where pets rest. Because fleas have multiple life stages, professional treatment and proper preparation are important for long-term control.

At Howey Pest Solutions, we provide customized flea treatments designed to target active fleas and help break the flea life cycle inside your home.

Signs You May Have Fleas

Follow-up treatment recommendations
Preparation and aftercare guidance
Recommendations for pet treatment through your veterinarian

Customized Flea Control Solutions

Every flea problem is different. The number of pets, size of the home, flooring type, activity level, and preparation completed before service can all affect the treatment plan.

That is why we begin with a FREE professional inspection. Our licensed technician will evaluate the activity, explain preparation steps, and recommend the best treatment option for your home.

Flea Preparation

Proper preparation is extremely important for successful flea control. Before treatment, customers may be asked to:

Vacuum all floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture before service
Wash pet bedding, blankets, and washable fabrics in hot water
Clear floors so treatment areas are accessible
Treat all pets with a veterinarian-approved flea product
Remove pets from the home during treatment
Follow all technician instructions before service

What to Expect After Flea Treatment

It is normal to see some flea activity for 7–14 days after treatment as eggs continue to hatch and fleas contact treated areas.

Continue vacuuming daily for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Dispose of vacuum contents immediately after each use.

Do not shampoo carpets or mop treated areas for at least 3 weeks unless instructed by the technician.

Why Fleas Come Back

Fleas can return if pets are not treated, wildlife is active around the property, or eggs continue hatching after the first service.

Untreated pets
Wildlife around the home
Eggs hatching after treatment
Pet bedding not washed
Insufficient vacuuming after service
Fleas brought in from outdoor areas

How to Help Prevent Fleas

Keep pets on veterinarian-approved flea prevention
Vacuum regularly, especially where pets rest
Wash pet bedding often
Keep grass trimmed and yard areas maintained
Reduce wildlife activity around the home
Schedule treatment early when flea activity is first noticed

Yard Flea Reduction

Fleas can also be present outdoors, especially in shaded areas where pets or wildlife rest. Our Yard Defense Plan includes flea reduction along with mosquito and tick treatments during the active season.

If fleas are coming from outdoor areas, combining interior treatment with yard protection may provide better results.
